Kohler Toilet Seats keep aesthetics and functionality in mind. For shipping purposes, toilet seat hinges have bolt covers on them that hide the actual seat bolt which connects the seat to the bowl. These tabs lift off with your fingernail or a screwdriver. Please pay particular attention to this design as there is a tendency for these to break off if removed incorrectly. They are designed to be unclipped to attach the toilet seat to the bowl and be snapped back into place, preserving aesthetic look and not affecting the function.

We will not be reponsible for excessive tampering of these tabs as they are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. They will connect back in and be secured regardless of the plastic hinge wearing through on the plastic tab, not affecting its function.
