These tabs lift off with your fingernail or a screwdriver. Please pay particular attention to this design as there is a tendency for these to break off if removed incorrectly. They are designed to be unclipped to attach the toilet seat to the bowl and be snapped back into place, preserving aesthetic look and not affecting the function.
