The Magnolia Progressions Combo Adult/Juvenile Toilet Seat is multi-purpose, with a special sized seat for the toilet training individual and an adult size seat for everyone else. Simply raise the juvenile lid to reveal a smaller, kid-size opening. When the juvenile lid is closed, it appears as one solid lid. When you open the entire lid, you reveal a standard sized opening for adults.
This easy-to-clean toilet seat has a slow close hinge to eliminate loud slams of the lid. Even though it has a built-in transition seat for children, this toilet seat has a contemporary, adult design so it is perfect for any bathroom.

great for girls...boys I wonder?

This seems like a wonderful idea for girls, but as the mom of 3 boys (1 girl) I know when my son urinates he stands up...however when he poops he sits down and while he's pooping he always pees a little (while sitting). Ive had a big problem with the urine going between his padded seat and the actual seat. Ive tried the flip down seat and 2 other styles as well. Everytime I take the seat off there's urine on the commode lid. We've taught him to "push it down" bit the hole is only so big on the kids potty seats and even when he does this it still ends up on the adult seat. I don't remember this problem with my adult son or 17 yr. old...but I don't remember what type of seat I used then.
I've also tried the guard but it doesnt seem tall enough.

Good enough seat for the purpose it is intended. The adult portion of the seat is a little small, does not completely cover the rim of our toilet. The seat back is also a little uncomfortable if you lean back on it while sitting on the toilet seat-would be better if it had a flat surface. It has been great because my 2 1/2 year old loves that she does not fall in & it is much more sanitary than using the toilet training potty because she liked to dump the bowl into the toilet herself-but didn't always make it into the toilet.

Setup was simple. Design and size fits toilet. My daughter now can feel "grown up" when going potty. Exactly what we needed.

Not as cool as I wanted it to be. The 1st lid shuts fast on my kid. The bolt cover broke. The adult seat dose not fit even a small adult.

I have a three year old grandchild. The seat is designed so that when you lift the lid the first seat is the child sized one. Most others have the first seat that is under the lid the adult-sized seat. My little honeybun can go to the bathroom all by herself. Most other seats don't afford this completely. And it is pretty to look at. I am very happy with this purchase. I have no negatives to give
