Bidet Seats and Washlet Seats Installation

Bidet seats and washlet seats are great alternatives to installing a new bathroom fixture. Now that you have decided to install a bidet or washlet seat, there are a few things you need to know. Bidet and washlet seats install directly on your existing toilet, making installation quite easy.

Make sure you have chosen the correct seat for your existing toilet. Bidet/washlet seats fit most toilets. Round and elongated seats are available and are made to fit both one- and two-piece toilets.

Standard installation should take less than one hour, and has only five high-level steps.
Step 1: Turn off the toilet water valve
Step 2: Remove your existing toilet seat
Step 3: Install the new seat's mounting bracket
Step 4: Attach the new seat and its connections
Step 5: Turn on the toilet water valve

Perhaps the most important thing to know is that it is essential that you have a GFCI grounded outlet. If an existing GFCI grounded outlet is not located in the restroom or it is not near enough to the toilet, consider having one installed behind the stool. The other alternative is to run an extension cord to the nearest GFCI grounded outlet.
