Bidet use has many benefits, both to the user and to the environment. Washlet
is a term used to describe a seat that attaches to your existing toilet that has
the same functionality as a stand-alone bidet.

Cleaner and Comfortable
Bidets and washlets offer hands-free cleaning with warm water. Cleaning with warm
water is more effective and more comfortable than trying to clean with tissue.
Hands-free cleaning reduces the chance of spreading germs. Bidets and washlets
are especially useful in households with young children and older family members.
Youngsters often want to do things themselves but still need help, or may forget
to wash their hands properly. Older family members, those with arthritis, MS,
and other diseases will also appreciate the independence and effective cleaning
bidets and washlets provide. As an added benefit, many washlets have heated seats that provide an extra measure of comfort.
Warm water is soothing to sensitive areas, where wiping with tissue can irritate.
Gentle streams of warm water will help those suffering from hemorrhoids, recovering
from childbirth, or surgery find relief while keeping the areas clean.
Conservation
Bidets and washlets eliminate the need for toilet paper, and use a small amount
of water in the process. The United States alone uses over 3.2 million tons of
toilet paper a year. In addition to 54 million trees, toilet paper production
requires 37 gallons of water and 1.3 KWH of electricity per roll. Using bidets
and washlets actually saves on water usage, conserves electricity, and preserves
our forests.
